TIPS FOR KEEPING YOUR LIVING AREA FRESH
1. Always keep garbage disposed of in a timely manner.
2. Always keep your clothes clean (make it a habit to clean all laundry weekly).
3. Wash and change your bedding on a weekly basis.
4. Arm & Hammer and Gain are good inexpensive detergents.
5. If you cannot afford a good detergent (e.g. tide or those listed above), try to invest in Downy dryer sheets. They give your clothes a nice fresh touch and help fragrance your surroundings as well. Place individual Downy dryer sheets in your drawers, top of your closet, or in the linen closet.
6. Try to invest in smell-goods for your home or bedroom (plug-ins, air freshner spray, etc.).
7. California scents wafers are great for placing above doorways for a secret fragrant solution.
8. There are also scent bags that you can place around your home (bed, bath, & beyond).
9. It's always good to invest in good deodorant. Generic deodorants can oftentimes have an adverse affect and can actually create an unpleasant odor. Gel deodorants by 'Secret' are great!
10. For foot sweating problems, ALWAYS keep your feet clean; invest in foot powder or shoe deodorants and be sure to put on clean socks everyday as well as putting powder in your shoes overnight! Young men, invest in socks! socks! socks! Ladies, keep an extra stash of stockings or knee highs at all times! If you can't, rinse your knee highs out each night and hang them up!
11. To avoid germs, try to keep papertowels or disposable hand towels in your bathroom for guests.
12. Try to visit a dentist at least once every 6 months. Bad breath is extremely offensive to the person talking to you. If you don't have dental insurance, check with your local agencies for help in this area. Be sure to brush well, floss well, rinse well, and always pop a mint or a piece of gum. Never be 'too' confident about your breath!
Bad breath can actually cause your living space to have an unpleasant odor!

FINANCES
High School Students - Be very careful of credit card offers. It's best to avoid credit cards altogether while you are in high school. It may appear convenient and exciting but you may really regret it later.
College Students - Try to avoid student loans as much as possible. They are very easy to obtain but very difficult to pay off.
During/After College - Make it a rule that you only buy that which you can afford to pay cash for on the spot. Try very hard to save until you can pay for your needs (clothing, furniture, etc.). Avoid using credit cards.
If you do choose to open a credit account to help build your credit, commit to paying off the entire balance of the card each month. Do not spend beyond the amount you can pay off within that month.
If you receive an increase in income (raise/promotion), continue to live on your previous budget and save the difference. Make your monthly savings another bill.
Everyone - With each paycheck, always tithe 10% and try to save at least 10%. God will bless your efforts!
